Parisa Khoshnood

Parisa serves as the Youth Education Program Manager. She holds a B.A. in Global Studies & Modern Languages from Drexel University, with a concentration in Justice and Human Rights.

In this role, Parisa supports the K-8 Newcomer Youth ESL Program and the Young Adult Mentoring Program, facilitates school enrollment, and provides education case management to immigrant youth and families, with a focus on Afghan arrivals through the Afghan Placement and Assistance (APA) program. She also conducts parent workshops on key education-related topics to ensure that our newly arrived families have the necessary information and communication tools to become empowered members of their child’s new school community. Parisa previously worked as the Youth Education Administrative Assistant and Case Aide on the Education team.

Prior to beginning this position, Parisa conducted two six-month internships with the HIAS PA Education Team in 2018 and 2019, and has stayed on board in various capacities ever since. She is grateful to have the opportunity to continue supporting and advocating for our wonderful clients!
