Jhordan Damaris Schildt
Jhordan Damaris Shildt joined HIAS Pennsylvania in 2018 as the receptionist before being promoted to Asylum & Complex Litigation Paralegal. She graduated from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Macros in Lima, Peru with a bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management; she then obtained a master’s degree in Hospitality Administration (2014) from the University of Kentucky. Shildt also possesses certificates in medical interpretation (English-Spanish, Spanish-English), legal interpretation (English-Spanish, Spanish-English), and English as a Foreign Language, or “EFL” (also known as ESL and ELL). She both volunteered as an EFL teacher and studied EFL methodology. In addition to Spanish, she holds a basic level of French. Shildt’s long-term professional interests include community development, agrotourism, and sustainability.
