Ana Sophia Rollins
Ana Sophia Rollins is a Refugee Resettlement Case Aide on the Reception and Placement team at HIAS Pennsylvania where they work with clients to support them through the resettlement process during their first few months in the U.S.
Having earned their B.A. in Latin American Studies from Temple University, Ana Sophia’s background focuses on language exchange and identity. They have previous experience as a Spanish-English language tutor with students of all ages and backgrounds, as well as interning at Temple University’s Translation Institute providing free translation and interpretation services to local Philadelphia organizations assisting English Language Learning immigrant communities. Ana Sophia also volunteered with HIAS PA as a Youth Mentor before joining the R&P team, guiding high school students through the college application/post-graduation planning process.
As a Colombian-American child of an immigrant, Ana Sophia’s familial and cultural background has closely tied them to the importance of the immigrant experience, and they are so excited to be doing such important and meaningful work welcoming newly-arrived refugees into our community!
