Show Up for Immigrant Families When They Need You Most

Online fundraisers are a powerful way to mobilize your community to support immigrants. By creating a personal online fundraiser and sharing it with your friends, family, classmates, and coworkers, you can help local immigrants get access to the life-changing legal services that protect them from detention and deportation.

When you start an online fundraiser, you’re not just raising money—you’re boldly declaring that immigrants belong here and standing with our immigrant neighbors in the face of the current administration’s attacks.

How Online Fundraisers Work

Creating an online fundraiser is simple:

  1. Set up your fundraiser by clicking on the Start an Online Fundraiser button above and adding a short message about why defending immigrant rights is important to you. You can also add a goal and an image to your fundraiser.
  2. Share it via email or social media with your network.
  3. Change lives as people donate and help spread the word. You’ll be notified by email when someone donates to your fundraiser and when you hit your goal.

Adding a message about why you are inspired to support immigrants makes a difference. People are more likely to give when they understand why you care and how their support can help immigrants facing current challenges.

Fundraise for Any Occasion (or No Occasion at All)

Online fundraisers are perfect for marking meaningful moments, including:

  • Birthdays
  • Bar or bat mitzvah projects
  • Weddings
  • Graduations
  • Memorials
  • School or community service projects

But you don’t need a special event to show up for immigrants at this critical moment in history. Many supporters create fundraisers simply because they know that immigrants are in urgent need of legal support right now.

Team Fundraisers: Make an Even Bigger Impact Together

Team fundraisers let multiple people raise money toward a shared goal. This option is great for families, friend groups, coworkers, student organizations, faith communities, and other groups who want to fight for immigrant justice together. Team fundraisers are especially effective because they turned the shared values of a group into collective action.

How to start a team fundraiser:

  1. One person from your group should start the fundraiser.
  2. When the fundraiser is set up, they can view it in our donor portal.
  3. After clicking on the fundraiser in the portal, they will be brought to a page where they can view the progress of the fundraiser. At the very bottom of that page there is an option to Invite members to the fundraiser with a link. That link can be copied and shared with other members of their team.

In-Person Fundraisers

In-person fundraisers bring people together to support immigrants through community activities and experiences. Some common types of in-person fundraisers include:

  • Art shows
  • Bake sales
  • Benefit concerts
  • In-kind donation drives
  • Restaurant nights
  • Sports tournaments

Hosting an in-person fundraiser is a great option if you enjoy organizing events or want to engage your community face-to-face. It’s a powerful way to publicly show support for immigrants. In-person fundraisers are a great fit for schools, faith communities, small businesses, and neighborhood groups who are looking for a way to help local immigrants facing today’s urgent legal challenges. Funds raised will help protect immigrant rights and keep families together.
