About the Event

HIAS Pennsylvania’s Tikkun Olam (Hebrew for “repairing the world”) Awards honors our wonderful volunteers for their important work. This event is also a great opportunity to meet fellow supporters of HIAS Pennsylvania.

The event will be held in person at Rodeph Shalom in Philadelphia, on Tuesday, October 29th, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Lunch will be served.

This event is free to attend, but registration is required and seats are limited.

Recipient of the Adele Lipton Award for Extraordinary Community Service

Jeremy Meyer

for guiding refugees as a Philly Neighbor and consistently stepping up to offer support whenever and wherever it’s needed

 

Honored for Exceptional Pro Bono Legal Services

Michael Ahlert

for providing exceptional pro bono representation to Afghan parolees and immigrant youth

 

Honored for Extraordinary Interpretation Services

Michael Raish

for sharing his English, Arabic, and Spanish language skills to help asylum seekers and refugees get pro bono legal representation

 

Honored for  Many Volunteer Roles

Daniele Romano

for her wide-range of volunteer services including interpretation, deliveries, and appointment accompaniment
