ABOUT THE ADELE LIPTON AWARD FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE
Through her nearly 40 years of Board service, Adele (pictured left) exemplified tikkun olam. Adele‘s mother was only 15 years old when she was helped by HIAS, Inc. in New York after arriving from Poland. Their aid to her mother made such a profound impression that Adele chose to share her gifts with HIAS Pennsylvania in service of immigrants and immigrant justice.
The Adele Lipton Award is given to the person who best exemplifies her extraordinary commitment to education, social justice, community service and tikkun olam – repairing the world.
