Asylum Officer’s Presentation

On Thursday, June 23rd, at 1PM, HIAS PA and Ballard Spahr will host a presentation by a Supervisory Asylum Officer from the Newark Asylum Office of United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). The Asylum Officer will offer advice on how to present an effective affirmative asylum application and how attorneys can best prepare their clients for their asylum interviews. The Officer will also share insights and answer questions specifically related to preparing applications for Afghan asylum seekers.

This program is approved for 1.0 CLE Credits in CA, NJ, NY, & PA. DE CLE is pending. Uniform Certificates of Attendance will be provided for the purpose of seeking credit in other jurisdictions.

Attorneys who are interested in representing an asylum seeker and who have not participated in HIAS PA’s substantive training on asylum law are encouraged to contact Jessica Daly, HIAS PA’s pro bono coordinator, at jdaly@hiaspa.org for more information about additional trainings and being paired with a client in need of representation.
