The Golden Door Awards is HIAS Pennsylvania’s annual fundraiser. Your generous support helps us serve low-income immigrants from all over the world as they build new lives in our community.

HIAS Pennsylvania will honor the individuals and entities listed below for leading the way in support of immigrants and refugees.

Our Honorees

Rev. Zoe Cassell

Rev. Zoe Cassell

Rev. Cassell escaped civil unrest in Liberia with her then-infant son. Upon receiving her green card in the U.S., she pledged to help other people. Rev. Cassell is now the pastor of a church she established, which supports low-income and homeless people in her community, including many immigrants.

St. Mary’s Episcopal Church

The Resa Rudney Award

St. Mary’s Episcopal Church of Ardmore and its Immigration Action Group (IAG) have provided extraordinary advocacy and dedication to our clients and the wider immigrant community. The IAG has organized drives to collect household goods for refugees and has collected donations to support our work. The IAG also collaborates with volunteers from local organizations, including the Ardmore Food Pantry, which is a ministry of St. Mary’s, to offer services to immigrants in Ardmore and surrounding communities. St. Mary’s and the IAG prioritize advocacy for immigrant rights at the state level, while also engaging in national advocacy campaigns.

Troutman Pepper Hamilton Sanders LLP

Troutman Pepper will be honored for its outstanding pro bono services provided to low-income immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers, as well as for hosting legal clinics and facilitating partnerships with other corporate partners.
