Laila Abd-Almawla

Laila Abd-Almawla is a freshman at Holy Family University. She came to the United States from Syria five years ago, fleeing the war. Laila’s childhood dream is to become a doctor and help the people back in her home country.

Leidy Villalta Fuentez

Leidy Villalta Fuentez, a freshman at the Community College of Philadelphia, came to the United States from El Salvador two years ago. After overcoming many obstacles, Leidy is thriving at college. Although she doesn’t know her major yet, Leidy loves math, science, and painting.

Khadijeh Moaddal

Khadijeh Moaddal is currently a sophomore at the Community College of Philadelphia. She came to the United States five years ago from Syria. Her ability to balance her schoolwork with helping out with her younger siblings is impressive. Khadijeh hopes one day to become a pharmacist because she loves medicine.
