Whitney Skippings

Whitney Skippings is a Health Case Manager at HIAS Pennsylvania. In this capacity, she assists and orients refugees and immigrants as they navigate the healthcare system in the United States. Whitney and her colleagues ensure that clients obtain adequate medical care and become self-sufficient in managing their health.
Whitney’s professional background is in foreign policy, specifically U.S. policy toward East and Central African countries. She holds an M.A. in Security Studies from Georgetown University and a B.A. in International Relations and Philosophy from Spelman College. She is currently finishing her M.Ed in Counseling Psychology at Temple University, where she focuses on ways to decrease barriers to mental health resources for immigrant and refugee populations.
