John Branca

John Branca is a Paralegal on the Complex Litigation and Humanitarian Relief Team at HIAS
Pennsylvania. He has a Bachelors in Paralegal Studies from Peirce College. John has worked
at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office as well as in Philly’s hospitality industry as co-owner
of the James Beard-nominated Malaysian restaurant, Saté Kampar, along with his wife, Ange.
During that time he co-founded Muhibbah Dinners, a charity dinner series that raises money for
non-profits that work with immigrants and refugees. In recent years, he has helped run Kampar
Kitchen, an online pick-up/delivery platform featuring a diverse roster of Philadelphia chefs
specializing in underrepresented traditional cuisines. He started at HIAS PA at the beginning of
2022 and is happy to be combining his paralegal experience with his passion for being a part of
diversity thriving in Philly and the rest of the country.
