Anneke Kat

Anneke Kat currently serves as HIAS Pennsylvania’s Community Engagement Specialist, managing volunteer engagement, in-kind donations, and community events, and creating partnerships focused on engagement with entities across the region. Anneke is a community development practitioner with experience collaborating alongside refugees, women, and youth on issues of education, economic empowerment, and inter-religious community building. Her academic and professional experiences have provided her with opportunities to work with communities in Sub-Saharan Africa and the United States. Anneke obtained a B.A. in International Development and Social Change and an M.A. in Community Development and Planning, both from Clark University. As a Philadelphia native, she hopes to utilize her knowledge of advocacy, community outreach, and refugee resettlement on behalf of the organization. She served as a refugee resettlement intern for HIAS PA between 2013-2015.
