Board Member Judge Harold Berger Receives Lifetime Award from UPenn Law School

We are proud to announce that longtime board member, Judge Harold Berger, has been honored by the University of Pennsylvania Law School as the inaugural recipient of Penn Law School’s Lifetime Commitment award.  The award recognizes graduates “who through their lifetime of service and commitment to Penn Law have truly set a new standard of excellence.”

Honored as a recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Legal Intelligencer, Judge Berger is a managing principal and member of the executive committee of Berger & Montague, P.C. 

As his biographies in Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in American Law outline, he is the recipient of numerous awards including the Special Service Award of the Pennsylvania Conference of State Trial Judges, and various Bar Association awards.  A board member of local and national HIAS for many years, he is the recipient of the “Children of the American Dream” award of HIAS for his leadership in the civic, legal, academic and Jewish communities.  Judge Berger serves on Penn’s Board of Overseers, as Chair of the Friends of Penn’s Biddle Law Library and as a member of the Executive Board of the Center for Ethics and the Rule of Law of Penn Law School. 

Long active in diverse community and inter faith efforts, Judge Berger serves as an honorary Trustee of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, as a director of the National Museum of American Jewish History, as a director of the Jewish Learning Venture and as a director of ADL.
