The panel will be moderated by our executive director, Cathryn Miller-Wilson, Esq. Featured speakers are: Agozino Emmanuel, who was a journalist in his home country of Nigeria; and Youssef Abbara, who was an engineer in his home country of Syria.

    On June 6, 1939, the M.S. St. Louis was turned back from the United States, sending more than 900 German Jews back to Europe. 200 subsequently perished in the Holocaust.

    Join St. Louis Survivor Ronnie Breslow in conversation with HIAS PA Executive Director Cathryn Miller-Wilson and CEO of HIAS, Inc. Mark Hetfield, as they explore the story of the St. Louis and examine that moment in history in the context of current events and policy.

    PhilHarmonia is proud to celebrate the close of its 5th Season with “American DREAMers: Stories of Immigration.”  The concert will feature works by Brooke Joyce, Jarrod Fischer Green, Rich Campbell, and the world premiere of American DREAMers, a multimovement work on the texts of Dreamers by composer, Melissa Dunphy (pictured right).

    The concert is free to the public, and we ask guests to consider giving a free-will offering at the door. All offerings will benefit HIAS Pennsylvania.
