HIAS Pennsylvania, together with the American Immigration Lawyer’s Association Pro Bono Committee and La Comunidad Hispana,conducted a training for immigration and family law attorneys interested in representing unaccompanied minors on September 30th, 2014. Below are links to video of the training.
Drexel University is seeking participants to take part in a research study involving political asylum and trauma.
Asylee Outreach Program Coordinator Jason Hernandez is working with Sarah Filone at Drexel University to research asylum applications in an attempt to create a more fair system moving forward. They are interested in the ways adult asylees communicate their stories in an interview.
Derivative asylees are welcome to participate.

These notarios charge unreasonable fees for help they cannot give in order to exploit a needing population and to make a quick buck - and sometimes end up getting those they claim to be helping into deportation.
