Opening Doors for New Americans since 1882
There are many ways you can help the refugee and immigrant community - all efforts are equally rewarding and appreciated. You can volunteer to assist a new refugee family to settle into life in the United States, support HIAS Pennsylvania's legal work with immigrant victims of domestic violence, or make a donation to allow HIAS Pennsylvania to continue its working toward its mission. Most importantly, you can stay informed of the challenges facing immigrants and refugees in Pennsylvania and the United States and take action to help "welcome the stranger".
HIAS Pennsylvania is gratefully supported by numerous dedicated individuals, and public and private institutions. We ensure that your donation is efficiently used to service the legal, social and healthcare needs of immigrants and refugees. You can donate on-line, as a monthly donor, or through our planned giving program.
HIAS Pennsylvania can only serve refugees if they are allowed into the country. We can only help support immigrants with legal services if vulnerable immigrants are given protections from the government. You can advocate for just policies for refugees and immigrants by calling your representative, protesting, and more.
Whether you are interested in collecting household goods and furniture for the new homes of arriving refugee families or in serving as a pro bono attorney for an immigrant youth, there is a place for you to help at HIAS Pennsylvania.
