Stephanie Costa is the supervising attorney of HIAS PA's Domestic Violence Initiative, a unique program dedicated to providing immigration legal services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. In this capacity, Stephanie oversees a team of attorneys and an accredited representative that provides direct representation to survivors residing in Philadelphia and several surrounding counties. Stephanie also represents survivors before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service and in Immigration Court.
Stephanie joined HIAS PA in 2013. Before joining HIAS PA, she worked as an associate at Sachs Law Group, LLC, a Philadelphia law firm, where she specialized in the intersection between criminal and immigration laws. Stephanie graduated from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2012. During law school, Stephanie was an intern at the Executive Office of Immigration Review, New York Catholic Charities, and HIAS PA; she also completed a year-long legal clinic at the Nationalities Services Center, where she helped clients apply for asylum to avoid removal to countries of persecution.
