Elizabeth Yaeger is the Supervising Attorney of HIAS Pennsylvania’s Immigrant Youth Advocacy Project (IYAP), the only program of its kind dedicated to providing immigration legal services to low-income children in Pennsylvania. In this capacity, Liz oversees the IYAP’s Know Your Rights and direct representation projects, and represents children before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service and in immigration court. Liz has trained attorneys, educators, and other child-serving professionals on immigration issues impacting youth. Before joining HIAS PA, Liz clerked for the New Jersey Judiciary and was a staff attorney with the Pennsylvania Immigration Resource Center (PIRC), where she provided Know Your Rights trainings to detained noncitizens and represented vulnerable individuals in immigration court. Liz is a 2009 graduate of the Temple University Beasley School of Law, where she served as a note/comment editor on the Temple Political and Civil Rights Law Review.
