Opening Doors for New Americans since 1882
Please note that U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will begin accepting requests for expanded portions of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program on Feb. 18, 2015.
Per the revised guidelines established as part of President Obama’s recent announcements on immigration, the DACA program will be expanded in several ways:
· The deferred action and employment authorization periods will be extended to three-year increments (no longer limited to 2-year increments)
· Allows applicants of any age to apply (no longer limited to those born after June 15, 1981)
· Allows applicants who have lived in the United States continuously since at least January 1, 2010 (no longer limited to those in the United States since June 15, 2007)
USCIS advises the public to be extra careful to avoid immigration scams.
