Opening Doors for New Americans since 1882
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will not be reusing previously captured fingerprint and biometric (photograph and signature) data during the next Central American Temporary Protected Status (TPS) re-registration period.
USCIS will schedule an appointment for every TPS registrant to appear at an Application Support Center (ASC) to have their fingerprints and biometrics electronically captured. The appointment will be scheduled 4-8 weeks after the registrant files Form I-821, Application for Temporary Protected Status, and will identify the date, time, and location of the ASC appointment.
Registrants must wait to receive a biometric appointment notice before going to the ASC for biometrics processing. Failure to attend the scheduled appointment will delay the processing of the registrant’s application, and could ultimately result in the loss of the registrant’s Temporary Protected Status.
