Job Title: High School Summer Math Program Instructor
Supervisor: Refugee Education Coordinator
Time Commitment: Classes will operate from 8:30am-12:30pm Monday-Wednesday during the month of July 2018. Anticipated time commitment is 20 hours per week, which includes 10.5 hours of instruction and time for lesson preparation and classroom setup/clean up. Additionally, there will be 2 required pre-program planning meetings. If budget allows for additional student activities such as a field trip, the instructor will participate in these activities as well.
General Description: The High School Summer Math Program Instructor will be responsible for implementing Math classes composed of English Language Learner (ELL) immigrant and refugee students who have been in the United States for 5 years or less and are rising 9th-12th graders. The overall goal of the math activities is to strengthen students’ foundational skills in computation and critical thinking. Specifically, students will:
