Protect & Elect's Forum on Immigration

Protect & Elect will host their Forum on Immigration on August 1, 2018 from 5:00PM - 6:30PM at the Philadelphia Ethical Society, 1906 S. Rittenhouse Square. There will be a panel discussion by experts including HIAS PA's Ayodele Gansallo (Senior Staff Attorney, HIAS Pennsylvania, and Board Member of the PA ACLU. Ayo, who has practiced immigration law for nearly 20 years, has worked on several high profile asylum cases and will provide insight on the recent dramatic changes and their impact.), Gerardo D. Castillo Jimenez (Gerardo was born in Puebla City, Mexico, and came to the United States with his family when he was 13. He became a DACA Recipient in 2012 and now works with unaccompanied children from Central America as a Know Your Rights Specialist.), and Rona Buchalter (Director of Refugee Programming and Planning, HIAS Pennsylvania, Rona will provide a front-line view of the world-wide refugee crisis and the impact of the current administration’s policies and practices on those seeking refuge from war and violence.). Wendy Castor Hess from the Philadelphia Bar Association will also be on the panel. Wendy has worked with both corporations and immigrants on employment-related issues, and is an expert on the needs immigrants fill in the medical, pharmaceutical, and  IT fields, and in the university community.
