Kerry Coughlin is the Community Engagement Specialist at HIAS Pennsylvania. She received her Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania and her B.A. in Comparative Literature from Hamilton College. Ms. Coughlin was introduced to HIAS PA while working as an MSW intern with their citizenship team. Prior to pursuing her MSW, she was a manager at a software company in Conshohocken, PA. Ms. Coughlin served for two years with the Peace Corps, performing youth development and English education work in the country of Moldova. She served as the board Vice President of Philadelphia’s returned Peace Corps association for four years and remains connected to their programming. She also volunteers for and holds a leadership role with the Philadelphia-based non-profit Back on My Feet. Ms. Coughlin has volunteered with immigrants and refugees in a variety of roles and settings not only in Philadelphia but also in Utica, NY; Tucson, AZ; and Prague, Czech Republic.
