Jessica Merone was born in Naples, Italy and immigrated to the United States at the age of five with her family. She graduated from Cabrini College in 2013, with a dual degree in Social Work and Spanish, and a minor in Psychology. She received her Master’s in Social Services (equivalent to a MSW) at Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research in 2016. She also has a certificate in Law of Social Policy, researching how law and social worker intersect with each other. During graduate school, she was an intern at HIAS PA.
Jessica became part of the HIAS PA staff in February 2017. She is funded under the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA), where she provides direct social services to immigrant survivors of interpersonal violence and serious crimes.
