Every June 20, the United Nations celebrates World Refugee Day, honoring the courage, strength and determination of the men, women and children who have been displaced from their homes and forced to flee as a result of perscution and violence.
In Philadelphia, we are celebrating the following Saturday, June 23rd, with a day full of music, art, food and live performances. The City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program has created the Southeast by Southeast project, which strives to use art to bring the Philadelphia community together the celebrate the diversity and resilience of Philadelphia's immigrant populations.
