Training to do Pro Bono Representation for Unaccompanied Minors

HIAS Pennsylvania, together with the AILA Pro Bono Committee and La Comunidad Hispana, will be conducting a training  for immigration and family law attorneys interested in representing unaccompanied minors.


The Schedule:

10:30 AM – 12 PM: representation of unaccompanied children in removal proceedings, including handling the immigration portion of a Special Immigrant Juvenile (SIJ) Status Petition.

12 - 1 PM.: net-working lunch, courtesy of Blank, Rome

1 PM - 2:30 PM: family court portion of an SIJ petition.


The morning portion of the training is meant for immigration attorneys who are unfamiliar with SIJ petitions and the afternoon portion of the training is meant for family law attorneys who are unfamiliar with SIJ petitions.

The luncheon is for both subsets of attorneys to meet and get to know one another.
Those attorneys interested in providing both halves of the representation are invited to attend both parts of the training.
