Opening Doors for New Americans since 1882
The Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the ACLU are featuring a keynote speech by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Jose Vargas for their May 15 Annual Meeting.
Vargas is a widely respected and admired journalist who recently revealed himself as an undocumented immigrant in a New York Times Magazine essay. He is the founder of Define American, a new campaign that seeks to elevate the conversation about immigration. The speech will be focused on his personal story and the need for comprehensive immigration reform in the United States.
Vargas will be speaking Tuesday, May 15, at 6:30pm at the National Constitution Center, Kirby Auditorium.
The event is free and open to the public, with coffee and desserts following.
